BDS prepares for special LGBTI Pride event

Kathmandu (Pahichan) August 13 – Blue Diamond Society has been celebrating Gaijatra as a LGBTI Pride. The BDS is preparing to celebrate this festival with fanfare this year. The ‘Society with Complete Self-Respect and Violence-Free’ is the main slogan of the LGBTI pride this year.  

The Society is celebrating LGBTI provide since 12 years. National Field Director Marti Roj of Human Right Campaign Global is visiting Nepal to participate in the program.

Along with Roj, American Ambassador to Nepal Alina B will participate in the program which will be organized in Bhadra 3 in Kathmandu. Like previous years, the rally will begin from Thamel which will conclude in Bastantpur with candle light.

Transgender from across the country are coming to Kathmandu to participate in the program. “American Ambassador and a director of Human Right organization are attending LGBTI Pride,” said Executive Director of Blue Diamond Society Manisha Dhakal.

Therefore, the occasion is going to be special this year. According to Dhakal, approximately 2000 people will participate program. She appealed all the people to arrive at Thamel at 12 noon on Bhadra 3. “People should come here to know that LGBTI are not characters of hatred and defame,” he said. There will be candle light vigil in Basantapur in the memory of people who died last year.
