Burma assures to address LGBTI issues
Indira Neupane/Makwanpur (Pahichan) June 6 – Bijula Burma, a lawmaker from province no.3 has said that issues of sexual and gender minority is one of the prominent issues therefore it should be addressed. Receiving a memorandum from Friends Hetauda, Lawmaker Barma said issues of gender and sexual minority equally amounts to other issues of the country.
The Lawmaker expressed the commitment that she would take up the issues of sexual and gender minority with the speaker of provincial parliament. Members of this community urged her to formulate laws following the article 12, 18 and 42 of the constitution.
They also demanded to make an easy provisions when it comes to receiving citizenship and passports. Along with seeking employment, they asked to make provisions in education, budget, asking to allocate budget for this community. Burma represents Nepali Congress who has expressed commitments to make laws addressing this community.
