Draft committee to study report on same-sex marriage


Kathmandu (Pahichan) November 14 – A government committee responsible to prepare a draft of law to legalize same-sex marriage has decided to study the government report on same-sex marriage.

According to Bharat Sharma, Secretary of Committee, the members have been provide a week to study the report. According to Sharma, there has been discussion to make a law accommodating the all aspects of LGBTI issues.

There have been discussions about the marriages of transgender, inter-sex and bisexual. “We will prepare an action plan as soon as possible. There will be internal discussions in the ministry which will be followed by discussions in the committee,” Sharma said.
