Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 30 – Leader of Nepal Student Union Tara Sharma has said that role of elected representative is vital one to establish the rights of gender and sexual minority.
Sharma is of the view that elected representatives could play a vital role in the change context. He said elected representatives should play vital role to implement the constitutional rights of this community and remove all the illusions.
Sharma said NSU will continue to alert the elected representatives to establish the rights of gender and sexual minority. He said NSU will continue to raise the voices in favor of LGBTI and it will be continued in future as well. He stood in favor of same-sex marriage saying that it should be legalized. “Some countries have already provided legal status to same-sex marriage so Nepal should not hesitate to legalize it,” Sharma said.
