Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 16 – Lawmaker Prem Bahadur Giri has said that government committed a mistake by not allocating budget for homosexual and transgender. Speaking to Pahichan Radio Program, ruling party CPN-UML Giri said though local bodies and concerned agencies have to allocate budget in the name of LGBIT.
According to him, as constitution has guaranteed the rights and mentioned about this community, it is wrong not to allocate the budget. This mistake could be corrected through local bodies and ministerial level. The LGBTI community are lacking the budget but government is facing the charges of dispersing the budget into various sections, Giri said.
“Government aims to address the problems of all community, I urge all community to be hopeful,” said Giri. He assured that LGBTI community would get equal rights to male and female. “All the members of the community should get equal treatment,” Giri said.
