Homosexual, transgender should be viewed from human rights perspective : NC Spokesperson Badu


Kathmandu (Pahichan) October 29 – Nepali Congress Spokesperson Dilendra Badu has said that members of homosexual and transgender should not be viewed beyond human rights framework.

Speaking to Pahichan Radio program, Badu said purpose of promulgation of new constitution is fulfilling the aspirations of many communities.  “All the human beings including homosexual and transgender should not viewed beyond the framework of human rights,” Badu said.  “Nepali Congress was founded to preserve the freedom so it wants to ensure the rights of all community,” Badu said.

He informed that erstwhile government led by NC President Sushil Koirala has registered an amendment proposal at Parliament with a view that demands of some communities have not been addressed by new constitution.

He said homosexual and transgender are the production of nature like man and women.  He underlined the need of discrimination among human being to speed up the national development. He expressed displeasure for not pushing the amendment bill to address the demands of Madhesi community.
