Indigenous identity card to a transwoman

Kathmandu (Pahichan) February 20 – Transgender woman Rukshana Kapali has taken certificate of indigenous nationalities. A transwoman who belongs to Newa community has taken identity card from National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities certifying her ethnic identity.

“Actually, there was no any gender option as male, female or other so it was not even an issue. I presented my citizenship with my gender identity marked as “other”, But it was not an issue, Rukshana said.
The options available were son and daughter and of course transwomen identify and prefer to be used with feminine terms, she added
