Makawanpur (Pahichan) July 3 – Government officials have said that there is a need of formulating policy targeting gender and sexual minority. At the program organized by Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare on how to eliminate the illusions against gender and sexual minority, participants said that laws should be formulated to end discrimination.
The program was attended by District Administration Office, District Education Office among others. Under Secretary at Ministry Bharat Sharma said government has initiated awareness campaign to end discrimination to this community.
Participants said that as there are still some illusions, members of this community should move ahead to remove such illusions. Members of gender and sexual minority said that there are still negative mindset towards them and that remains unchanged. They presented the example of Neha Manandhar who was denied the citizenship with identity.
