LGBTI community must be uplifted: Bartaula
Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 23 – Voice Chairman of All Nepal Student Union Mahesh Gadtaula Bartaula has said that marginalized community must be uplifted to provide equal rights to all citizens. Speaking to Pahichan, he said the past movements were targeted to secure the rights of marginalized community.
“The past movements were aimed at uplifting the marginalized communities such as Adhibasi, Madhesi, Muslim and backward community,” Bartaula said adding that all sections of society must get opportunities. He said current stable government must address the issues of this community.
“If this government fails to address the issues of this community, there are the chances of revolt,” he said. He said LGBTI members have secured some rights in the constitution but that needs to be implemented. He informed that members of this community have already been elevated to CC members. Bartaula welcomed other members to join the student union.
