LGBTI in leadership will help to control corruption : Sharma

Kathmandu (Pahichan) November 26 – Sanjaya Sharma, Deputy Program Director of Diwa Project of Blue Diamond Society, has said corruption will come under control if gender and sexual minority get the leadership. Speaking to Pahichan, Sharma said as members of this community do not have the responsibility of taking care of their children and appeasing relatives, they are less prone to corruption.

“If members of this community take leadership of public offices they will work for the community and country. Members of this community should take the leadership,” said Sharma.

He said though members of this community remain active in different parties they are denied to be at helm due to mentality of leadership.

He cited the example of Shilpa Chaudhary who was nominated by Dang district committee of CPN-UML but here name was deleted at eleventh hour.  Naya Shakti Nepal has appointed Pinky  Gurung in PR list, Sharma said, such good practices should be followed by other parties.
