Members of gender and sexual minority complain of facing difficulties


Kailali (Pahichan) November 23 – Members of gender and sexual minority have said that they are facing discrimination in each and every sector. At a program organized by Ekata Nepal Kailali they complained that they are denied from rights and opportunities.

Bibek Singh, Secretary of Ekata Nepal, said members of this community are not getting opportunities Public Service Commission and other competitive jobs. Transgender Gita Neupane said she is facing difficulties to run businesses due to her gender identity.

Far-western Coordinator Raju Lama said many people are yet to disclose their identity. One homosexual woman said, “Society is not accepting our relations. We are living together since four years.

She underlined the need of change in social perceptions towards gender and sexual minority. Editor of Mukti K Dagar Unnati Chaudhary expressed the commitment to work to push the issues of gender and sexual minority.
