Our agendas still remains unimplemented :  LGBTI community

Makwanpur (Pahichan) June 9 – Members of gender and sexual minority have said their agenda remains unaddressed. Speaking at a program organized by Friends Hetauda, they said there is no progress in making laws as per the constitutional provisions. The program was organized with a purpose of motivating gender and sexual minority.

Susmita Poudel, who is working in the field of sexual and gender minority, informed members of this community about the reproductive. Poudel said members of this community are compelled to conceal their sexuality. Poudel said members of this community are still facing sexual harassment. “I am facing sexual harassment from my own relatives,” he said.

Manju Moktan said though she is spending 20 years with partners they lack legal framework. Members of this community shared their views and plights in the program. They underlined the need of providing vocational trainings as well as implementation of constitutional rights.
