Rana’s relentlessly working to establish the rights of LGBTI
Rupandehi (Pahichan) August 6 – Anik Rana is a character who is tirelessly and relentlessly working to resolve the problems faced by gender and sexual minority and establish the identity of this community. She is conducting various creative works to establish the rights of this community.
Earlier, Rana received citizenship under male category and again received citizenship under O (Others) category. Rana is the first person to receive citizenship under O category from Rupandehi district. Establishing a separate identity, Rana has started a new television show Paribartan in Budha Community Television. The program has been effective in the recent days.
The program would be aired on Tuesday 6 am, Thursday 1 pm and Saturday 9 am. “I have started the television program with a view of changing the society. Society failed to change its attitude towards us, my struggle will be continued,” said Rana.
Sunil Babu Pant was the first person to initiate such programs. Transgender Sandhaya Lama’s television show was halted due to the lack of financial aid. Pant has congratulated Rana for initiating such program. Bishnu Bhusal, Executive Chief of Budha Television Bishnu Bhusal said the program was launched with a view that equal respect and space should be provided to all communities.
