Transgender are insecure from police in Sunsari


Sunsari (Pahichan) October 10 – Transgender living in Itahari of Sunsari District have said that police administration detained them and gave unnecessary torture. They also said that policy is abusing them. Organizing a press conference, three transgender said they are insecure from police administration.

They said police detained them in the name of investigation while they were returning from participating Ramailo Mela. They claimed police stripped them and forced them to eat condoms.

They demanded the action to the police personnel involved in the manhandling of transgender, according to Binod Wagle who works in Blue Diamond Society Branch office.

Monika Pariyar has suffered a minor injury in her left leg and hands of Abhaya Limbu have swollen. Chief of Blue Diamond Society Itahari Rabi Shrestha said the inhuman acts of police cannot be pardoned and immediate action should be taken. Policy has not commented about it.
