Transgender in cleanup campaign of Swayambhunath


Kathmandu (Pahichan) April 17 – Members of homosexual and transgender have cleaned up Swayambhunath Temple. They collected garbage surrounded at temple premises.

New Shakti LGBTI 1Members of this community are regularly attending ‘Clean Kathmandu, Green Kathmandu Campaign’ since its beginning. In the cleanup campaign, there was participation of around 200 people.

 Member of Interim Council of Naya Shakti and Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinky Gurung said led the team of campaign at Swayambhunath Temple. “We are very happy to get the opportunity to participate in social and cultural activities, members of this community are actively participating in the campaign,” said Gurung.

Earlier, members this community participated in the clean-up campaign in Durbarsquare. Coordinator of Naya Shakti Nepal Baburam Bhattarai is requesting members of this community to participate in the campaign.
