Transgender in heritage preservation campaign
Kathmandu (Pahichan) February 1 – Members of gender and sexual minority have started a campaign of protecting the heritage. The campaign was launched six months ago. Initially, the campaign was focused on Ranipohari now it is concentrated on preserving Basantapur.
Like other members of this community, transgender are also participating in the program. The campaign which was attended by members of LGBTI reached to the office of Commission of investigation of Abuse of Authority and demanded to take action against those people who are constructing a business complex.
Ganapati Lal Shrestha, Coordinator of Struggle Committee said members of gender and sexual minority are participating in this campaign simultaneously. “Heritage is for all the people and members of gender and sexual minority have felt responsibility,” said Shrestha.
