Kathmandu (Pahichan) September 22 – Political Analyst Uttamraj Thapa has said that violence against homosexual and transgender is a crime against humanity. Thapa said being homosexual and transgender is not a crime.
Speaking to Pahichan Radio program, Thapa said that nature has given different identities to the people. “Being a homosexual is not a crime but crime against them is a shame in 21th century,” he said adding that all types of discrimination should be ended.
He said there is a tendency of forgetting the past and being emotional about the present which is an obstacle for the improvement of the society. “We forget what happened in the past and we cannot maintain a patient in the present,” he said adding that people should learn from their past.
He said homosexual and transgender should pay attention to such tendencies and learn from them. “If there are any discrimination within this community that should be ended,” he said.
