Kathmandu (Pahichan) January 10 – Chief Whip of Federal Socialist Forum Dr. Shivaji Yadav has said that he is ready to raise the concerns of gender and sexual minority in any platforms. Speaking to Pahichan Radio program, Yadav said not only gender and sexual minority; his party is ready to play a political role to ensure rights of gender and sexual minority.
“We are fighting for gender and sexual minority; we are ready to fight for marginalized community,” Yadav said.
He said they are now fighting for the rights of Madhesi people but they are ready to fight to secure the rights of any citizen. He said it is unfortunate that there is lack of consensus of all parties regarding the constitution. According to him, if there is consensus among parties, the amendment bill will smoothly move forward.
Asked about the chances of formulating law on legalizing same-sex marriage, Yadav said he can not say anything now but laws would be formulated and that would be acceptable to all. “I am fully optimistic that homosexual and transgender would feel satisfactions after formulation of laws,” said Yadav saying that no citizen would be denied from any rights.
