‘We need reservation in all sectors‘

Kailali (Pahichan) January 23 – Members of sexual and gender minority have complained they are only receiving citizenship on the basis identity but there is not provision of reservation for them.  The members of this community said that they are being expelled from their job due to their identity.

They said there should be provisions of reservations in the Army, Police and Public Service Commission for the members of this community.  Rights Activist Bisoraj Adhikari said there is a change in social attitude about this community.  He said there is a need of creating awareness to inform that there are various categories of gender and sexual minority.

Legal Advisor at Blue Diamond Society Sujan Panta said that after the Supreme Court verdict members of this community is taken as natural phenomenon. In comparison to other countries, Panta said, Nepal’s constitution is progressive when it comes to the rights of gender and sexual minority.  He requested to conceal identity.
