Kathmandu (Pahichan) October 16 – Secretary of All Nepal Free Student Union (ANFSU) RC Lamichhane has said that there will be representation of gender and sexual minority from the upcoming convention.
Speaking to Pahichan Radio program, he said there was not representation in the past due to the social stigma in the past and there will be a comfortable situation in the coming days.
“There have been attitudinal changes after constitution ensured their rights. They are openly being engaged in the politics. There were representatives in the past as well,” he said. He said though ANFSU has already embraced the principle of inclusion, members of this community are not incorporated.
“We will arrange statutory provisions to ensure the representation of this community in the central committee,” he said. He said entry would be ensured on the basis of reservation and securing top posts is based on competition.
