Wide-range of discussions are necessary : Shrestha

Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 8 – Assistant Professor at Tribhuwan University and Advocate Milan Shrestha has said that there should be wide-range of discussions regarding the rights and identity of gender and sexual minority. The bill on this community is under discussions among the stakeholders.

He said the drafted bill has not accommodated all the rights mentioned in  constitution. He said there is a need of separate law for participation and management of gender and sexual minority.

He said current 5-member committee could be made 7-member through the amendment in bill. He said members of this community are not enlisted in the minority clusters.  He said the draft has paved the way for the same-sex marriage stating that there should not be obstacles to live together.
