Community FM Radios ready to broadcast LGBTI programs
Kaski (Pahichan) May 1 – Community and independent FM Radios in local levels have started to produce separate programs targeting sexual and gender minority. They have expressed to formulate separate programs involving the members of this community.
Radio Taranga of Kaski, which is extensively reporting about gender and sexual minority, has expressed commitments to allow producing separate programs of this community. A team of Norwegian project reached at the office of Radio. In discussion with the team, the Radio administration pledged to produce separate programs targeting this community. Officials from Radio said they are repeatedly urging the members of this community to produce he program.
After Him Nidhi Laudari of Radio administration instructed to allow producing the program, transgender representative started to join the office and engage in the tasks of production. But, the program is producing only in the Pahichan program.
Deputy Director of Blue Diamond Society Parshu Ram Rai enquired the Radio administration on why radios are reluctant to practice the principle of inclusion. After the complaint from Rai, Laudari expressed commitment to produce separate program besides Pahichan Program.
In the central level, people who are familiar with the development are producing and presenting news in Radio Anmol Hetauda, Radio Butuwal Rupandehi and in Budha Television.
