What makes Nepal a great place to live?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Smiles, mountains, diversity of cultures and ethnicity, spirituality, and acceptance of LGBTQ people.<\/p>\n

What are some of the down-sides of living in Nepal?<\/strong><\/p>\n

For people who are coming from the developed world, the lack of infrastructure, poor roads, and inadequate water supply can be
\nintimidating.<\/p>\n

Is Nepal a good place for LGBTQ people to visit?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes and no. Yes because LGBTQ people are largely accepted, and the new
\nconstitution guarantees equal rights and protection\u200a\u2014\u200awe can be open,
\nvocal and organised. No, because constitutional rights are not yet
\ntranslated into the laws\u200a\u2014\u200aLGBTQ people can face soft discrimination. In Nepal, LGBTQ people are accepted, but may not always get the respect and rights that a human being deserves.<\/p>\n

If someone was visiting Nepal, what hints or tips would you give
\nthem?<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are a lot of\u00a0Tantric temples and festivals<\/a>\u00a0that celebrates gender and
\nsexuality diversities.<\/p>\n

Go trekking, spend time with the villagers, help those communities who are still suffering from the devastating earthquake of 2015.<\/p>\n

What are some of the things that you\u2019re currently getting excited about?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I want to be an established role model and politician for the third-gender
\ncommunities in Nepal, and change all the discriminatory laws against
\nLGBTQ people. I\u2019m excited to prepare myself for the next big election in a few
\nyears time.<\/p>\n

What are some of the things that are currently making you angry?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The government has been failing to change the discriminatory laws
\nagainst LGBTQ people, despite the Supreme Court\u2019s directive order in
\n2007, and the 2015 constitution guaranteeing equality and protection.<\/p>\n

What are some of your priorities for the remainder of 2018?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Continue lobbying policy makers to change and make better laws for
\nLGBTQ people, and strengthen my political base for the upcoming big
\nelection.<\/p>\n
