Tony Richens\/South Africa (Pahichan) May 28 – Jordan Bruno from Australia has won Mr Gay World 2018 at the finale held in Knysna South Africa this Yesterday.<\/p>\n

Jordan was chosen from 19 delegates from across the globe after competing in challenges throughout the week. This is the first time Australia has won the title.<\/p>\n

New Zealand\u2019s Ricky Devine-White was named first runner-up, meaning the top two placegetters came from Oceania, a remarkable result.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Gay Nation soon after the announcement an emotional Bruno said he was overwhelmed and couldn\u2019t believe it was real.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy first emotion is surreal because I can\u2019t believe this has actually happened,\u201d an emotional Bruno explained to Gay Nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAm I emotional, I\u2019m always emotional, I only cried for a minute which is pretty good for me. Normally I cry for half a day.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m also feeling inspired, the panel of judges that elected me, they\u2019re huge role models internationally and for their nations so to receive an award from them and get recognised means a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of the 12 challenge winners announced Australia won six of them including Formal Wear, Personal Interview and the Social Responsibility challenge.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s the other delegates, that Bruno has made a bond with over the past week, who he wants to help first as Mr Gay World 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first thing I would like to do is consolidate with the other contestants about what they\u2019re trying to do and see if I can contribute in any way and help with their missions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also really want to release a line of videos tackling LGBTI issues within our own community. Femme shaming, body issues, lesbian discrimination at pride festivals, we\u2019ve got so much to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Winning the first\u00a0ever Mr Gay World title for Australia hasn\u2019t sunk in yet, but he is grateful for all the support and help that has got him to take away the ultimate title.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe week\u2019s been really full-on, there\u2019s been lots of challenges that have all be difficult in their own way some are emotionally draining some are physically challenging so across the board its been a level of consistency that you needed to display to reach the point that I have.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m grateful for the opportunity and I\u2019m grateful to have met all of these incredible guys that have such incredible missions.\u201d<\/p>\n

First Runner-up Ricky Devine-White said he was excited about Jordan winning and was so happy about spending the week with an incredible group of guys.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that you are in a competition and you\u2019re also like a family at the same time which is quite interesting because you are competing against each other but also each other\u2019s best friend as well,\u201d said Devine-White following the announcement to Gay Nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s been tears already, they\u2019ve just told us everyone has to be on the bus at 8am to the airport tomorrow.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll keep in touch with all of these guys, they are now part of the family when we travel to their countries.\u201d<\/p>\n

The final places: 1. Australia, 2. New Zealand, 3. India, 4. Taiwan, 5. Portugal.<\/p>\n

Top 10:\u00a0New Zealand, Belgium,\u00a0Mexico, Germany, South Africa,\u00a0Australia, Portugal,\u00a0Costa Rica,\u00a0India &\u00a0Taiwan.<\/p>\n

Nepal’s Second Mr. Gay Handsome Manil Singh participated in Mr. Gay World for the first time from Nepal.<\/p>\n
