{"id":11811,"date":"2019-03-22T11:55:15","date_gmt":"2019-03-22T06:10:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pahichan.com\/?p=11811"},"modified":"2019-03-22T11:55:15","modified_gmt":"2019-03-22T06:10:15","slug":"filipino-transwoman-charged-again-bail-denied","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pahichan.com\/en\/filipino-transwoman-charged-again-bail-denied\/","title":{"rendered":"Filipino transwoman charged again, bail denied"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pw-hidden-cp\">\n<div id=\"slcontent_0_sleft_0_storyDiv\" class=\"story\">\n<p>Kathmandu (Pahichan) March 22 &#8211; The Filipino transwoman, who walked around Bukit Bintang naked, has been charged for the second time at a magistrate&#8217;s court here.<\/p>\n<p>This time, Kent Caburnay Acuin appeared in court in a grey T-shirt and with her head shaved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"story\">\n<p>She was charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which is using a word or gesture intended to insult the modesty of a person.<\/p>\n<p>She was accused of climbing over a car in the nude with the intention to insult the modesty of a person at Jalan Sultan Ismail at 10.40am on March 13.<\/p>\n<div class=\"pw-hidden-cp\">\n<p>She faces jail time of up to five years, or a fine, or both, if convicted.<\/p>\n<p>She pleaded not guilty to the charge on Thursday (March 21).<\/p>\n<p>The court also denied the 29-year-old tourist bail, as she did not have local surety.<\/p>\n<p>She would have to spend her time behind bars until the next mention date, which is fixed on April 22.<\/p>\n<p>Magistrate Maizatul Munirah Abdul Rahman told the accused to appoint a lawyer.
