Cook, <em>Chief Executive Officer of Apple Inc<\/em><em>.,<\/em> an American multinational\u00a0<em>corporation, has exposed his gendered identity that he is a Gay. He has publicly acknowledged his<\/em> sexuality in an essay written for the latest edition of Bloomberg BusinessWeek.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;I\u2019m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me,&#8221; he writes. Mr. Cook has stated that several colleagues at Apple know his sexuality and it doesn\u2019t seem to make a difference in the way they treat to him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to him, being gay has given him a deeper understanding of what it means to be in the minority and provided a window into the challenges that people in other minority groups deal with every day. &#8220;It\u2019s made me more empathetic, which has led to a richer life. It\u2019s been tough and uncomfortable at times, but it has given me the confidence to be myself, to follow my own path, and to rise above adversity and bigotry,&#8221; he says. &#8220;It\u2019s also given me the skin of a rhinoceros, which comes in handy when you\u2019re the CEO of Apple.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He further says that he does not consider himself an activist, but he realizes how much he have been benefited from the sacrifice of others. &#8220;So if hearing that the CEO of Apple is gay can help someone struggling to come to terms with who he or she is, or bring comfort to anyone who feels alone, or inspire people to insist on their equality, then it\u2019s worth the trade-off with my own privacy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cook had also participated in <em>LGBT Pride<\/em>\u00a0Celebration and Parade held in <em>San Francisco of America<\/em> this year. Last year, by writing an article in the\u00a0<em>Wall Street Journal,<\/em> he had urged the US government to enforce a workplace equality bill for providing equal treatment to LGBTI people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The company I am so fortunate to lead has long advocated for human rights and equality for all. We\u2019ll continue to fight for our values, and I believe that any CEO of this incredible company, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation, would do the same.
