The second Milestone Awards &amp; Diversity Leadership Forum held on April 15, 2015 has announced the final award recipients \u00a0<i>Entrepreneur of The Year\u00a0<\/i>went to\u00a0<i>Geng L<\/i>e, a former Chinese policeman who founded the largest LGBT enterprise in China and lured in wide-spread press interest with his company being the first LGBT company receiving mainstream capital investments;\u00a0<i>Hero of The Year<\/i>\u00a0was awarded to Malaysian\u2019s transgender activist\u00a0<i>Nisha Ayub<\/i>,\u00a0who were thrown into the prison before but won a landmark bid\u00a0to overturn an Islamic anti cross-dressing law in the conservative Muslim-majority nation<i>.<\/i><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>Role Model of The Year<\/i>\u00a0went to Taiwanese physical-disabled gay man\u00a0<i>Vincent Huang<\/i>, who launched a controversial program called \u201chand-job angels\u201d which offers free hand-jobs for physically disabled gay men. Icon of The Year went to Taiwanese pop icon Jolin Tsai, who released her latest music video\u00a0<i>So What We Are Different<\/i>\u00a0(Song title:\u00a0<i>Bu Yi Yang You Zeng Yang<\/i> last year telling a touching life and death story of a lesbian couple with herself starring in with co-star Ruby Lin.<a href=\"http:\/\/pahichan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/unnamed.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3560\" src=\"http:\/\/pahichan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/unnamed-227x300.jpg\" alt=\"unnamed\" width=\"227\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pahichan.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/unnamed-227x300.jpg 227w, https:\/\/pahichan.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/unnamed.jpg 558w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 227px) 100vw, 227px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It gained wide-spread press interest across the Chinese community and raised tremendous social awareness on legal issues.\u00a0<i>Visual Inspiration of The Year<\/i>\u00a0went to\u00a0<i>Fan <\/i><i>Po<\/i><i> <\/i><i>P<\/i>o, a Chinese gay filmmaker and director of Beijing Queer Film Festival whose latest LGBT documentary film Mama Rainbow was banned in China. Taiwanese activist\u00a0<i>William Shen<\/i>\u00a0who founded Taiwan Tongzhi (in Chinese as\u00a0\u201cgay\u201d) Hotline Association received the award for\u00a0<i>Community Leader of The Year<\/i>.\u00a0 He helped publish a book with portrait body images of the elderly gay men and helped lift an international migrant ban on HIV foreign workers in early 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The corporate category include:\u00a0<i>Diversity Champion of The Year<\/i>\u00a0for\u00a0<i>IBM<\/i>; China\u2019s\u00a0<i>Taobao\/Alibaba<\/i>\u00a0gave way to Thailand\u2019s pro-LGBT TV Networks\u00a0<i>Voice TV<\/i>\u00a0for\u00a0<i>Outstanding Brand of The Year;<\/i>\u00a0<i>Star Employer of The Year<\/i>\u00a0went to Thailand\u2019s\u00a0<i>Apple Model Management<\/i>, which hires transgender models and help them become a supermodel; Last but not least,\u00a0<i>Barclays Spectrum Singapore<\/i>\u00a0won the award for\u00a0<i>Employee Network Group Of The Year.<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The results were announced after having received more than 50 nominations from 100 members of the judging panel who come from 11 Asian countries. China\u2019s\u00a0<i>Wei Ting Ting<\/i>, a finalist under\u00a0<i>Hero of The Year<\/i>\u00a0who\u2019s arrested by the Chinese government was not chosen as the award recipient. ALMA Awards &amp; Forum (in short) 2015 was forced to move to Bangkok this year after the organizer ELEMENT BIZ, a sub-publication under Singapore\u2019s online gay magazine ELEMEMT Magazine faced a number of challenges back in its home-grown country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is also co-organized together with ILGA Asia.
