Lalitpur (Pahichan) November 27 – Public Health Office of Lalitpur District Kedar Nath Parajuli has said that though 40, 0000 citizenships have been distributed to Indian; country\u2019s transgender have not received citizenship.<\/p>\n
At a program organized by Parichaya Samaaj Lalitpur with representatives of government offices on HIV and human rights, Parajuli made such remark. \u00a0\u201cWe distributed 40, 0000 citizenships to Indian nationals but we failed to distribute citizenship to our citizenship on the basis of identity,\u201d said Parajuli.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe constitution has addressed the rights of this community, the members of this community should increase their activities,\u201d said Parajuli. \u00a0\u201cYou have been denied from identity, access to information and self-respect,\u201d He said, \u201cIt is all state\u2019s responsibility, we will provide full possible support,\u201d said Parajuli. \u00a0\u00a0He suggested visiting offices and providing suggestions. \u201cIf there are issues that we cannot address, we will forward it to Ministry,\u201d said Parajuli.<\/p>\n
Social Mobilization Chief of District Development Committee Bisheshwor Koirala advised to initiate program from the local level. \u201cWe have to enter from the same level from where problem erupts,\u201d said Koirala.\u00a0 \u201cIf we fail to address any issues, we will forward them to District level,\u201d Koirala said requesting to come up with proposal format.<\/p>\n
HIV AIDS Control program Chief of Public Health Sebak Nepal it is a main priority of country to bring programs targeting the people who are on risk of HIV AIDS. \u201cYou have to advise donor agencies to launch program in coordination with government agencies,\u201d Nepal said adding that there is a need of continuous debate on how to make the programs effective.<\/p>\n
General Secretary of Federation of Gender and Sexual Minority Manoranajn Baidya, Vice-Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Umesh Pandey said new constitution has addressed the gender and sexual minority. They advised to incorporate this community in district level plan and policy.
