Kathmandu (Pahichan) January 18 – Community Medical Department Chief of Kathmandu Medical College Dr. Sunil Joshi has said that role of media is vital to end discrimination against homosexual and transgender.\u00a0 Speaking at a research discussion jointly organized by KMC and Lisiyan University Sweden on gender inequality and media, Joshi said homosexual and transgender should be treated equally like man and women. \u201cWe would incorporate this issue in our research related to gender inequality,\u201d said Joshi.<\/p>\n
He said homosexual and transgender are facing discrimination and violence like female. At the program, artists Diya Maske said media should provide support to end discrimination against homosexual and transgender.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey should not be forced to marry against their will, many homosexual are facing discrimination, they should get right to live with freedom\u201d said Maske.\u00a0 Researcher Pranab Dahal of the University said while taking about gender inequality, the issue of gender and sexual minority should not be excluded.\u00a0 \u201cMy research has included the issue of gender and sexual minority along with discrimination against women.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
