Indira Neupane\/Makawanpur (Pahichan) January 26 – A team of student who arrived in Hetauda has pledged to address the\u00a0issue of gender and sexual minority in their college thesis. A\u00a0five-member study team which arrived here from Chitwan said that\u00a0transgender are facing discrimination and they will play role to\u00a0minimize such discrimination against this community raising this issue\u00a0in their thesis.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rohit Gupta, a member of study team said there are discrepancies\u00a0between the image provided by society about their organization and\u00a0real picture or situation. \u201cOther people informed us in a negative\u00a0way, so we came here to know reality,\u201d Gupta said adding that now they \u00a0knew real status of this community.\u00a0He said though they are going to achieve master\u2019s degree they do not\u00a0know about this community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe issue of sexuality and minority should\u00a0be accommodating at the school-level curricula,\u201d Gupta said. Menuka\u00a0Gahatraj said a member of their relative shows a different behavior in\u00a0the society and family.\u00a0\u201cThe family members are surprised by such behavior, now she is living\u00a0separately from family due to such behavior,\u201d said Gahatraj.<\/p>\n
She said\u00a0she did not know about the sexuality and such information would be\u00a0helpful to know about this community in the coming days. Another\u00a0member of team said that they selected this organization to know the\u00a0differences between what society thinks and what actual situation is.
\nSuraj Thapa, program coordinator of BDS Makwanpur Chapter informed the\u00a0study team about the establishment of society, its purpose and\u00a0activities launched by this society. He also informed about the\u00a0challenges, facilities received from state among others.
