Kathmandu (Pahichan) March 26 – Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinky Gurung has said that homosexual and transgender are in existence since the creation of human civilization. Gurung said it is a positive development that society is gradually accepting gender and sexual minority like male and female.<\/p>\n

\"Book\"<\/a>Speaking at a discussion program in Martin Chautari on the book title \u2018Shikhandi’\u00a0 written by Indian writer Devdutt Pattanaik,\u00a0 Gurung said that her family is accepting her since 15 days. The discussion was moderated by Saguna Shah Founder of bOOkaholics Group. Gurung said though family has accepted, it gives pain when some relatives make a satire pointing to her gender identity.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cIn some minor disputes, some people call me as Chhaka and Hirja which gives me pain,\u201d Gurung said. In the book, it is stated that homosexual and transgender are in society since the ancient time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn our religious scripts, the transgender are presented into various roles,\u201d Shah said. In the ancient time, it is found that girls are presented as boy and vice-versa. \u201cThe purpose of book is that as homosexual and transgender are natural they should be accepted by society,\u201d Shah said.\u00a0 Though such references are not available now, the book helps to end discrimination against homosexual and transgender.<\/p>\n
