Kathmandu (Pahichan) May 19 – Aniee\u00a0Lama has bagged the award of Miss Pink 2016. There were eighteen competitors in\u00a0 the Miss Pink 2016.\u00a0 Aniee will participate in the International Miss Pink competition which will take place in Thailand. Lama will attend the training with international competitors.<\/p>\n

Blue Diamond Society organized beauty contest on the International Day against the Homophobia and Transbhobia. Akanshya Shah became the first runner up and Pallavi Sharma became the second runner up.<\/p>\n

\"Miss<\/a>The Miss Pink Aniee received Rs 50000 as a prize.\u00a0 Regal BK achieved the title of Best walk, Nirja Lama became Miss Beauty and Isha Nepal bagged the award of Best Dress.\u00a0 Muskan KC became Miss Congitalit and Nelam Poduel became Best Personality. All the winners received 10,000.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Pahichan Radio program, Aniee\u00a0said her objectives have been fulfilled. \u201cI am very happy. I request the members of this community to disclose their identity,\u201d said Aniee.\u00a0 She said the award has added challenges to her. There was the high presence of people in the award.<\/p>\n

In 1990, World Health Organization delisted LGBTI as a form of diseases. With a purpose of highlighting the plights of this community, the celebration of the day started in 2004.\u00a0 The day is celebrated in more than 130 countries. 37 countries still consider LGBTI as illegitimate.<\/p>\n

Government committed to human rights: Phuyal \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Hari<\/a>Attorney General Hari Phuyal has said that government is fully committed to protect and promote the human rights.\u00a0 Phuyal said that all the people will get the basic human rights and government is working to end the discrimination against this community.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cThe constitution has guaranteed the rights and laws will be formulated to speech up the implementation. If you face any obstacles and discrimination, please visit my offices,\u201d said Phuyal.<\/p>\n

Phuyal said he is working to ensure the rights of this community.\u00a0 He said members of this community will be incorporated in the Inclusive Commission.<\/p>\n

Country Director of UNAIDS Dr. Ruben Del Prado said Nepal\u2019s constitution is an important document, and it has ensured the rights of gender and sexual minority.\u00a0 Prado said Nepal\u2019s constitutional provision is an example for other country as well.<\/p>\n

Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinky Gurung said constitution has already provided the rights.\u00a0 \u201cHowever, in many countries, LGBTI members are still facing discrimination and compelled to live in a miserable condition,\u201d said Gurung.\u00a0 Gurung cited the example of Bangladesh and America to illustrate her claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cRecently, a rights activist in Bangladesh has been murdered.\u00a0 In America, which is known as largest democracy of world, members of this community are denied from going to public toilets in Caroline and Missishipi,\u201d said Gurung.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
