Kathmandu (Pahichan) December 14 – Transgender Dipesh has approached Ministry of Home Affairs to receive\u00a0citizenship as per the gender identity after Narayan Prasad Sharma\u00a0Duwadi of Makawanpur District refused to issue citizenship.<\/p>\n

\"deepesh\"<\/a>Earlier,\u00a0he had received citizenship under male category and now, Dipesh wants\u00a0to change it making it another category. First, he was told to bring\u00a0the recommendation of ward office but he was denied saying that there\u00a0is a need of consultation with Ministry of Home Affairs.<\/p>\n

Dipesh asked\u00a0Section Office Hiramani Subedi on why he was denied from citizenship\u00a0but he responded it saying Chief District Officer is ultimate\u00a0authority to issue citizenship. Subdei said there is no reasons for\u00a0denying the citizenship but it was delayed due to the legal hassles.<\/p>\n

Ministry of Home Affairs has already issued a circular in 2066 to\u00a0issue citizenship on the basis of gender identity. Makawanpur district\u00a0has already distributed citizenship on the basis of gender to Ajita\u00a0Bhujel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
