Rukshana Kapali\/ Pahichan – How this this third gender word even relevant in this news? \u00a0First of all, let me clear. I don\u2019t support the use of word \u201cthird gender\u201d for trans people. That\u2019s a different issue for now.<\/p>\n

But, when a heterosexual male commits a crime, does the news headline come \u201cRape committed by a heterosexual male\u201d?<\/p>\n

News are really sensitive issues. It guides society. News readers are not always the liberals. Conservative, backward thinkers, sheep-minded people are read news.<\/p>\n

I mean to say, it was not nece\"15555098_10211125269477183_466384363_n\"<\/a>ssary to assert \u201cthird gender\u201d term in this headline. Because the impact to readers might be different.<\/p>\n

Lets say a trans person gave 5lakhs contribution for a good purpose. Then when we put headlines as \u201cTransgender person donates 5 lakhs\u201d, it would be significant, as it provides positive impression about trans in a transphobic society.<\/p>\n

But I have really never seen headlines like \u201cA Brahmin man discriminated dalits\u201d; news are like \u201cSaptari resident discriminates on base of caste\u201d. I have never read news like, \u201cHeterosexual men raped\u201d.<\/p>\n

But news like \u201cDalit stole money\u201d; \u201cBlack money found in Tamang\u2019s residence\u201d; \u201cTransgender terrorism in Thamel\u201d are more common to see. Why is media so biased?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
