{"id":7439,"date":"2017-06-05T09:38:06","date_gmt":"2017-06-05T03:53:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pahichan.com\/?p=7439"},"modified":"2017-06-05T09:38:06","modified_gmt":"2017-06-05T03:53:06","slug":"melbourne-gets-new-lgbti-mental-health-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pahichan.com\/en\/melbourne-gets-new-lgbti-mental-health-service\/","title":{"rendered":"MELBOURNE GETS NEW LGBTI MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 5 &#8211; MELBOURNE\u2019S inner north has a brand new specialist mental health and wellbeing centre for the LGBTI community.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindaustralia.org.au\/need-help\/mind-services-in-victoria\/mind-victoria\/specialist-lgbti-clinic.html\">The Mind Equality Centre<\/a> has opened next door to North Fitzroy\u2019s Northside Clinic.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Run by Mind Australia Limited, the new clinic offers services including counselling and therapy for individuals, couples and families; occupational therapy; legal services and employment services.<\/p>\n<p>The clinic\u2019s staff identify and have extensive experience working with the LGBTI community.<\/p>\n<p>Bulk-billing through Medicare is available for people who have a referral and a mental health treatment plan.<\/p>\n<p>LGBTI people have <a href=\"http:\/\/lgbtihealth.org.au\/statistics\/\">higher rates<\/a> of mental health issues than the general community, with gay or bi people twice as likely to have a mental health condition.
