Kathmandu (Pahichan) February 14 – Candy Shop rapper 50 Cent has been slammed for his homophobic lyrics in the past. His prejudice is all the more surprising given his late mother, Sabrina Jackson, was a lesbian. The star confirmed his mom\u2019s sexual orientation in an interview with\u00a0Perez Hilton<\/a>\u00a0in 2012. He said at the time: \u2018Yeah, she liked women. My whole childhood was like that.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He furthermore added: \u2018When you\u2019re that small you don\u2019t see things that would indicate there are other things going on. [My] grandmother would say things like \u201cThat kiss was a little different from all the other kisses you saw.\u201d\u2018

2 Ana Matronic<\/h2>\n

As a crucial member of the super-queer, all-conquering pop-rock band Scissor Sisters, Ana Matronic (real name Ana Lynch) is used to being surrounded by gay men. However few people know that Ana\u2019s late father was also gay.<\/p>\n

Ana\u2019s mom broke the news to her three years after he left the family for San Francisco with his male partner. \u2018I burst into tears immediately because I knew this meant my parents would never be together again,\u2019 she told\u00a0The Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As she later explained to\u00a0Metro<\/a>: \u2018When I was 15 he became very ill, due to having HIV, and passed away. I told most people it was cancer, due to the stigma around HIV at the time.\u2019 She later moved to San Francisco in an effort to understand her father, and became attracted to the queer community and the world of performing. The rest, as they say, is history.<\/p>\n

3 Robert De Niro<\/h2>\n

Taxi Driver actor Robert De Niro\u2019s gay father was the subject of a 2016 documentary,\u00a0Remembering the Artist: Robert De Niro, Sr.<\/p>\n

Speaking about De Niro Sr., who died over 22 years ago, the Goodfellas star told\u00a0Out<\/a>: \u2018We were not the type of father and son who played baseball together, as you can surmise.
