Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 18 – Singer Sujata Barma has said that new songs should be prepared accommodating the issues of sexual and gender minority. Speaking to Pahichan, Barma said if the issues of this community are addressed in the songs, the campaign of this community will be more effective.
Barma said most of the songs are related to love and there are not songs accommodating all caste, language and community. “Due to the fear of commercialization, the songs of this community are not getting priority,” said Barma.
She said stakeholders must give priority to those songs which aims to create awareness on this community. Songs must be prepared to bring about a change in the society and create awareness, she said.
