Kathmandu (Pahichan) December 26 – Sathiko Katha, a drama that highlights the issues of gay and lesbian has been staged in Kathmandu from Friday.
Indian Dramatist Mitraji Ghost had prepared the drama which has been translated in Nepali language, presents a story of a girl who struggles hard to get love.
In drama, main character Sumitra Sumi has presented the uncomfortable environment she faced since she came to know about her gender identity. This also highlights the interference by male in their love affairs.
Similarly, one sided love affairs of Pandu to Sumi and its revelation has been presented. In Nepali society, several members of sexual and gender minority are facing a lot of discriminations.
The Drama has been directed by Renuka Karki and it was translated by Sagar Chand. Ayshuman Pyakurel, Suryaman Limbu, Sarada Adhikari and Sushma Niraula have played their role in the drama.
