Kathmandu (Pahichan) January 21 – Births and deaths are never under our control. When a son is born people become happy and they organize a party which is not a new tradition.  We have seen several people in front of us who become dismayed when daughter is born. There is actual number of sons and daughter but there are not any data about the people who receive separate gender identity during the course of their upbringing.

The people who are responsible to conduct the survey or conduct statistics do not have the idea about recording the people who have separate behavior and gestures than male and female. Those people are fighting to secure their identity. It is not confined within a certain geography and it has become an international issues. In more than 26 countries, people having separate identity are receiving the enjoyment of family. LGBTI community in Nepal frequently encounter with such news but they are largely feeling insecure. They are demanding security.

 The dead body of Ajita Bhujel, a third gender, has shocked this community and who are fighting for the rights of this community.

On connection with Ajita’s case, District Police Office Makawanpur has taken two members of sexual and gender minority into custody. Those two people were with Ajita in the night of Magh 3 in a same vehicle.

According to Ajita’s uncle and family members, two people got down from the bus in middle way and Ajita was thrown away in Campadanda. Police does not have the vehicle number. Ajita’s death is not suspicious. She has sent to prison in the charge of raping a minor. Does a third gender women rape?

This question was posed by two advocates in district courts and district court could not answer this question and she was freed. When she is released, rights activists became happy. Now, police is facing pressure not to investigate the case and free the people who were taking into custody.

SP Sushil Singh Rathaur, however, says that he will not bow down with any pressures. He is determined to book the culprit. “We are interrogating the suspicious people, be assured the criminal will be booked,” he said.
