Seven Summit Treks’ team progresses towards summit of Shishapangma

Kathmandu : A team of climbers, including Sherpas, is making progress in their ascent of Shishapangma (8,027 metres), the world’s 14th highest mountain, according to the latest updates.

This expedition is part of the Seven Summit Treks’ Shishapangma venture under the leadership of renowned climber Chhang Dawa Sherpa.

After successfully completing their acclimatisation, the team is now ready for a summit attempt on October 9, if weather permits, said SST’s General Manager Thaneswar Guragai.

This expedition holds immense historical significance, with 13 of the climbers, including Sherpa guides, aiming to achieve the remarkable feat of climbing all 14 peaks over 8,000 metres.

Meanwhile, a group of at least 11 climbers summited Shishapangma on October 4, 2024.
