Nima Rinji becomes youngest climber to summit 14×8000m peaks.

Kathmandu : Nepali climber Nima Rinji Sherpa has made history by becoming the youngest person to summit all 14 of the world’s highest peaks over 8000m at 18 years and 5 months old.

He reached atop the summit of Mount Shishapangma (8,027m), the world’s 14th highest peak, early this morning at 6:05 am (China time), completing his final peak in the 14×8000’ers challenge, confirmed climber Tashi Lakpa Sherpa via social media.

He was accompanied by his climbing partner Pasang Nurbu Sherpa, who also completed the 14x8000ers.

Nima Rinji has achieved many feats in climbing sector. He started his climbing career at the tender age of just 14, becoming the youngest person to summit Manaslu in 2022.

Since then, he has broken many records, including being the youngest climber to traverse Everest and Lhotse, and climb other highest peaks, including Nanga Parbat, K2, and Kangchenjunga.

Nima Rinji from Makalu in Sankhuwasabha district is the youngest son of record holding climber, Tashi Lakpa. Tashi Lakpa, Seven Summit Treks’ Managing Director and Chairperson of 14 Peaks Expedition, set a world record becoming the youngest climber to scale Mt Everest without bottled oxygen at the age of 19.
