Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 25- A member of transgender community has set up a restaurant at Joshhe Kathmandu. The name of restaurant is Pink Tiffani which has been inaugurated by Former Miss Nepal Malvika Subba. Suba said it is matter of happiness that members from homosexual and transgender opened the first restaurant.

Transgender Megna Lama said restaurant has been set up to provide a message that all the people are equal and capable. She had planned three years ago which has been now materialized.  “I am planning to extend my restaurant in each and every tourist spots.  Megna, 23, a permanent resident of Jhapa has selected Machhindra Acharya of Sindhupalchok district as a business partner.

The entire individuals are equal but why there is discrimination to transgender? Acharya said: Pink Tiffani would be helpful to minimize the discrimination against homosexual and transgender. Megna said he has taken 18 lakh as a loan for the operation of restaurant. Megni shared that Pink Tiffani would be established as a model restaurant.

Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinki Gurung said Pink Tiffani would play a vital role to change the current mindset towards sexual and gender minorities, and create a positive attitude. Gurung said it would delete the confusion that homosexual and transgender would only involve in sexual activities.

She requested people with opposite sex to assist the efforts made by homosexuals and transgender. Executive Director of Society Manisha Dhakal congratulated for initiating the business at a time when the members of homosexuals and transgender are being deprived from income generation activities

Deputy Director Parshu Ram Rai, Deputy Director of Day Project Sanjaya Sharma, Advocate Prem Bahadur Thapa, Sujan Pant among others wished the success of Pink Tiffani. There are eight staffs in the restaurant.
