Kathmandu (Pahichan) July 27 – Pinky Gurung has been appointed as a chief of Dalit and Marginalized Department of Naya Shakti party. Gurung is already a member of party’s Interim Council. Speaking to Pahichan online, Gurung said she would fulfill her responsibility.

“We were active in the politics and no parties gave importance to us, Naya Shakti has appreciated our contribution,” Gurung said. Gurung said her political career has begun from Naya Shakti and would remain devoted.
She said it was not possible to secure rights in the constitution if Sunil Babu Pant was not in involved in the political party.  As per the constitutional provisions, new laws will be formulated.
“I firmly believe Naya Shakti would support us,” Gurung said adding that she is impressed by the capacity and intellectuality of Baburam Bhattarai. Bhattarai allocated budget for gender and sexual minority when he was finance minister in 2009.
Gurung said he wants to do something for the country and nation.  Naya Shakti is not in government, it is not in parliament and it is working without any interest, it has been formed to serve the people, Gurung said. “This structure will work for the party and organizations,” Gurung.
