Bhumika selected as Tarun Dal representative

Kathmandu (Pahichan) September 9 – For the first time, Nepal Tarun Dal has appointed transgender as its general convention representative. The Kathmandu Committee has selected Bhumika Shrestha as representative for the fourth convention of the Dal. Earlier, Bhumika was general convention representative of Nepali Congress in the 12th General Convention. After the 12th Convention, there is not a single representative in convention.

“Now, Tarun Dal has appointed me as convention representative, and I am very much happy,” Shrestha said expressing a commitment that she would raise the voices of this community in the organization. She said that members of this community should be politically aware. Gender and sexual minority are holding the various positions.

Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinky Gurung is Chairman of Dalit and Marginalized Department of Naya Shakti Nepal. CPN-UML has appointed Shilpa Chaudhary as a member. Transgender Bhakti Shah and Sahas Batala were selected as convention representative by Nepal Student Union in its 11th convention.
