LGBTI solidarity in Naya Shakti campaign

Kathmandu (Pahichan) October 2 – Members of gender and sexual minority have participated in the sit-in program organized by Naya Shakti Nepal against the regression and joint statement issued after  Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’ s state visit to India.

Members of this community assembled in Bhadrakali with play cards and expressed solidarity in the movement of Naya Shakti. Naya Shakti is stating that 7, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 20 points of joint statement issued during the prime minister’s visit to India have undermined the sovereignty of Nepal.  Naya Shakti also said that the decision taken by government regarding the local bodies is against the spirit of federalism.

The members of this community demanded to end the black marketing, providing relief to earthquake victims, ending the syndicate in transportation sector, ending the violence against women, ending the unemployment among others.

Pinky gurung is the coordinator of Dalit and Minority Depatment of the party. Members of this community are attending the programs organized by Naya Shakti Nepal. Similarly, members of this community are active in Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, RPP –Nepal among others.
