Kathmandu (Pahichan) January 3 – Communicator and Singer Sushma Rai have said it is a sad that transgender community has been pushed backward by the state. She said though members of this community are equal in the public forum, they are being discriminated by state in the practical sense.
He said state representatives are not serious to address the concerns of this community though they provide high-sounding philosophy about this community.
She said political leaders are not committed to secure the rights of this community. She said transgender are treated in a way that they have come from separate planate. “When I was children I had a negative perception about this community but that was gradually changed,” she said.
Rai said though she is negative about the reservation, there should be reservation for the members of this community. She expressed the hope that voices of this community will be addressed in the songs when there is a positive attitude about this community.
