Bhakti Shah creates history in FNJ

Lalitpur (Pahichan) April 25 – For the first time in history of Federation of Nepalese Journalist(FNJ), a  transgender has been elected as a district committee member.  A member has been elected in Lalitpur Chapter of FNJ. Bhakti Shah has been elected as a member of FNJ District Committee headed by Ghyan Prasad Poudel.

He expressed the happiness for getting the opportunity to become the member through consensus. Shah said if members of this community had disclosed their identity on time, it was not difficult to reach at leadership level at present. “It is a mater of  happiness that a member of this community has been elected in the FNJ,” he said. He expressed the commitment of working for the welfare of journalist as a member of Lalitpur FNJ.

Sagar Neupane has been elected vice-chairman under open competition quota, Sirjana Timalsena under inclusion reservation quota, Sabin Sharma has been elected as secretary, Sangsur Mahatara as as joint secretary and Asmita Khadka under inclusive quota. Ram Hari Karki has been elected as treasurer.

The members are Birendra Oli, Kesari Pun, Bimal Shrestha, Gopal Alemagar, Shyam Tandukar, Gangesh Bahadur Acharya, Goma Pandey, Bhakti Shah, Bikas Bhattarai, Tej Bahadur Tamang, JB Lama, Sabin Rai, Deepak Neupane and Roshan Ghimire.
