Kathmandu (Pahichan) April 30 – She’s a model, media personality and wife of AFL star Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin. And now, Jesinta Franklin (née Campbell) has joined the fight for marriage equality, saying that she is ‘ashamed of Australia’ for not allowing same-sex marriage.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Jesinta will be one of several high-profile Australian celebrities to lend their support to the Until We All Belong marriage equality campaign, in the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine.

The Daily Telegraph quoted Jesinta, 25, telling the magazine that Australia’s stance on gay marriage was ’embarrassing’.

‘It makes me feel so ashamed of my country,’ she told Marie Claire in the magazine which is on sale on Thursday.

‘People are constantly saying “I can’t believe you don’t allow gay marriage” and all I can do is agree.’

The Telegraph added that Jesinta will be one of a number of celebrities lending their profiles to the Airbnb campaign including AFL icon Adam Goodes, fashion designer Carla Zampatti, Project host Waleed Aly, actress Asher Keddie, and model Gemma Ward.

Taking to Instagram recently, Jesinta posted a photo to her 399,000 followers showing her and her Sydney Swans star husband standing in front of a large map of Australia with the word ‘equality’ emblazoned across it – a symbol of The Equality Campaign.

Both Lance and Jesinta are smiling broadly in the photo and the pair are seen to be clutching hands tightly.

Jesinta captioned the post: ‘We believe in equal love,’ punctuating it with love heart emojis of various shades.

The post drew a plethora of support for the pair, with more than 14,000 likes.

Also, fans were quick to offer such comments as: ‘Of course you do you bloody legends,’ and  ‘love is love…equality for all!!’
