Rupandehi (Pahichan) May 23 – Members of gender and sexual minority have requested all to see HIV infected people without any discrimination and prejudice. Speaking at a program to mark International Candlelight Memorial Day, Manila Neupane, Program Coordinator of Blue Diamond Society Rupandehi said HIV virus would not chose any particular region, religion, sex and caste.
She said like other members of community, members of gender and sexual minority are being infected from this disease. International Candlelight Memorial Day is observed in remembrance of the people who died from HIV AIDS. This day is being observed since 1983.
The theme of this day was “empowering HIV infected people. According to Gyanu Poudel, Chairman of Model Integrated Development Council said in this day infected people will participate in various program and they will be provided available opportunities. There was the participation of governmental and non-governmental people in the candle light program.
