First LGBTI National Dance Competition concludes  

Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 26 – A cultural group of Nawalparsi district which presented Kauda Dance has bagged the award of first National Dance competition of gender and sexual minority. The award carries 50 thousand in cash.

The second position was held by a group of Bhairawaha which presented Sorathi dance and a group of Kathmandu which also presented Sorthi dance bagged third position. The second and third position got 40 thousand and 30 thousand respectively.  

Another group of Kathmandu which presented Purbeli Maruni got 10 thousand cash. A total of 150 homosexual and transgender from 18 different districts  took part in the competition which their respective dress and customs. There were various dances  of Kathmandu, Mahotari, Hetauda, Udayapur, Pokhara , Birgunj, Dang, Lahan, Bardiya, Janakpur, Rajbiraj, Itahari and Nawalparsi.

The twenty dances were directed by Director Kamal Rai, Govinda Rai and Samjana Budathoki. Pinky Gurung, Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinky Gurung and members of Jury, presented the award to the winners of dance competition.
